Cat climbs Kenworth high hood

KIRKLAND, Wash. — Kenworth Truck now offers Caterpillar C15 600-hp and 625-hp engines on the Kenworth T800 high hood model.

“Heavy hauler, rock and dirt, owner-operator and logging customers with a preference for the Kenworth T800 may be especially interested in considering these Caterpillar C15 offerings for the power needed to get the job done in their specific application,” said Jeff Sass, Kenworth marketing planning and research director.

Caterpillar’s C15 600-horsepower engine provides 1,850 pounds-feet of torque at 1,200 rpm and the C15 625-horsepower engine provides 2,050 pounds-feet of torque at 1,200 rpm. The Kenworth T800 high hood model with the C15 600-horsepower or 625-horsepower engine requires a manual transmission and Kenworth’s 1,430-square-inch radiator.
