Markel Insurance Co. of Canada has launched ProfitDriver, software designed to give small to mid-sized fleets control over the financial side of their business.
The package has four modules or calculators designed to streamline key aspects of any trucking operation: profitable pricing, tracking receivables, monitoring cash flow, and comparing loan-versus-lease scenarios for acquiring equipment.
Markel distributes ProfitDriver as a value-added product for its customers-it’s not for general consumption in the marketplace. However, an online version of the pricing module, called HaulRater Pro, is available to anyone and well worth a try (www.markel.ca). It’s simpler than HaulRater Pro but comprehensive enough that it may prompt you to plug in costs that you haven’t been accounting for. And you can’t beat the price: it’s free.
