Phillips releases EC47 interface

by Today's Trucking

Phillips Industries has introduced the new EC47 interface, providing what it dubs a “new era of communication, power transfer and safety for tractor-trailers.”

The EC47 name stems from the fact it has two Ethernet connectors, two CAN networks, 4-AUX connections and a 7-way J560 power connection. It is designed to meet future power requirements without adapters, interfacing with today’s J560 components.

Both the EC47 connector and socket housings are compatible with current J560 components, the company says, eliminating the need for large-scale retrofits.

Fleets can transition to the EC47 through normally scheduled equipment replacement cycles and know new equipment will be cross-compatible with existing equipment.
