Phillips valve automatically purges air tanks

Air tanks need to be purged on a regular basis, but Phillips is automating the process with its new Tank Saver Heated Electronic Drain Valve.

The heated electronic drain valve automatically removes excess moisture by releasing a one-second blast of air every five minutes, releasing moisture and contaminants.

The corrosion-resistant device incorporates a thermostatic 15-watt heating element, and even integrates with telematics systems using a five-volt feedback loop that will monitor the process.

An optional six-inch molded ABS/ECU plug-in harness with a 20-foot dropout will support wiring, eliminating any guesswork during installation, the company says.
