SensorMoto launches WheelShield lug nut monitoring sensor
SensorMoto has introduced WheelShield, a sensor designed to detect lug nut movement and alert fleets when a wheel begins to loosen.
The system mounts directly into the wheel assembly and monitors lug nuts for early signs of backing off, providing real-time alerts to drivers and fleet managers. According to the company, the technology is designed to identify potential wheel-off events before they develop into a safety risk.

WheelShield uses a dual-switch design to confirm whether lug nuts remain properly secured, helping reduce false alerts. The sensor is also designed to verify proper lug nut installation during wheel assembly.
SensorMoto says the rugged, patented sensor is built to withstand vibration, weather, and harsh operating conditions common in trucking operations. WheelShield is now available and integrates with the company’s fleet maintenance platform through its partnership with FleetHD.
