TSE Brakes standard for Arvin trailer brake prods

TROY, Mich. (July 19, 2005) — ArvinMeritor has informed its OEM trailer product customers that it has selected TSE brake chambers as the production standard for all its North American trailer brake axle products requiring air brake actuators.

TSE Brake Inc. of Fresno, Calif. will provide the products to all ArvinMeritor trailer product production plants effective this month.

According to the announcement from TSE Brakes, ArvinMeritor has advised trailer customers that TSE brakes meets the engineering test benchmarks required by ArvinMeritor to be selected as the production standard product. “We are extremely gratified that ArvinMeritor has given us this opportunity,” said Ted Smith, TSE chairman, “ArvinMeritor is known for their very high standards and engineering excellence.”

According to Smith, ArvinMeritor’s decision increases TSE’s business with the axle manufacturer but actually extends earlier relationships in Europe held between ArvinMeritor and TSE. “We’ve been supplying ArvinMeritor in Europe for many years now on Cam and Disc product,” Smith said.

While manufactured quality is central in today’s competition, TSE also had to meet the challenges of logistics and delivery. Management has maintained a strong investment policy toward its private fleet of 18 units including aircraft.

In addition to the TSE Omnibrake being specified as the production standard on all ArvinMeritor Trailer axle products, TSE also has available, through Meritor, new TSE High Output spring brake technology called HOT. The HOT brake actuator system is virtually identical to TSE’s Omnibrake standard air chamber system, however HOT is smaller in dimensional profile than traditionally designed air brake actuators, yet offers substantially higher parking brake forces. These HOT brakes from TSE are also available on ArvinMeritor Axle Products.

TSE is a global manufacturer and supplier of air brake actuators selling brake product to premier customers in more than 30 countries. TSE has been a global leader of high quality, innovative brake products to the heavy-duty industry for more than 40 years.
