CBSA intercepts truck with 6.27 kg of suspected opium pods at Ontario border crossing
Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) officers arrested an individual after they stopped a commercial vehicle attempting to enter Canada with suspected opium pods, heroin and steroids.
On Dec. 30, 2024, CBSA officers at Blue Water Bridge port of entry in Point Edward, Ont., intercepted a tractor-trailer entering Canada with 6.27 kilograms of suspected opium pods, 30 grams of suspected heroin, and two vials of suspected steroids.
“The CBSA must look at each event based on the unique circumstances of the specific case they are examining,” a CBSA official told TruckNews.com in an email. “We can tell you that, in this case, the individual was arrested by CBSA officers, and the seized items were handed over to our partners at the RCMP. The investigation is still ongoing.”
