Border officers seized more than 111 kg of suspected cocaine from a commercial truck entering Canada at the Blue Water Bridge earlier this month, according to the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA).

The seizure occurred Feb. 19 after a truck arriving from the United States at the Point Edward, Ont., port of entry was referred for secondary inspection. During examination of the trailer, officers discovered 111.4 kg of suspected cocaine concealed inside the load.

Two individuals — Sarkaren Vir Singh, 29, of Dartmouth, N.S., and Chamkaur Singh, 25, of Belleville, Ont. — were arrested at the scene. The accused and seized narcotics were transferred to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP).

Both men have been charged with importation of cocaine and possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. The cases are now before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sarnia and have yet to be proven.

Public Safety Minister Gary Anandasangaree said the seizure underscores ongoing enforcement efforts at Canada’s border.

CBSA says border services officers in its Southern Ontario Region have seized 1,743 kg of cocaine entering from the United States since Jan. 1, 2025.
