Officials seize heroin worth $7 million from truck at Peace Bridge in Ontario
The Ontario Provincial Police and Canada Border Services Agency have seized 42 kilograms of suspected heroin with an estimated street value of nearly $7 million from a tractor-trailer attempting to enter Canada at the Peace Bridge.
In December 2025, OPP members assigned to the multi-agency Border Enforcement Security Task Force, which includes the CBSA, launched an intelligence-led investigation into suspected drug trafficking and the alleged importation of heroin from the United States, police said in a news release.
On Dec. 18, based on intelligence from the OPP, CBSA Intelligence and the National Targeting Centre, border services officers identified a suspect tractor-trailer attempting to enter Canada from Buffalo, N.Y., at the Peace Bridge port of entry in Fort Erie, Ont.

Following a primary inspection, the vehicle was referred for further examination. With the assistance of a CBSA detector dog, officers located and seized 42 kilograms of suspected heroin concealed within the trailer.
The CBSA also seized the tractor, trailer and two cellphones as offence-related property. All seized items were turned over to the OPP. Police estimate the street value of the drugs at $6.98 million.
