Leading Mexican fleet places large order for CNG trucks
Hexagon Agility says it has received a $12-million order for compressed natural gas (CNG) fueling systems from a leading Mexican fleet.
The order comes after the carrier piloted heavy-duty natural gas trucks over the past year.

The sleeper trucks are collectively expected to cover more than 12 million miles a year and deliver cost savings of 50% compared to diesel. They’ll also shave 2,500 tons of GHG emissions each year while slashing NOx emissions by about 90%, Hexagon announced.
It reports the trucks will get about 1,200 miles (2,000 km) of range per fill.
“Following a year of proving the new 15-liter engine’s performance in their real-world operations, we are excited to help this major fleet as it scales the rollout of its heavy-duty natural gas truck platform,” said Ian MacDonald, senior vice president of sales Americas at Hexagon Agility.
“Despite the unprecedented slowdown in the North American truck market, fleets are choosing to transition to natural gas because the advantages are compelling – lower operating costs, cleaner emissions, and dependable performance that strengthens their competitiveness for the long term.”
