CompuNet to provide alerts about slow-paying shippers
CompuNet Credit Services
CompuNet Credit Services has launched a new service called Debtor Notification, designed to speed up payment to their customers on past-due accounts.
CompuNet, a provider of credit information on companies responsible for paying freight bills, will serve as a central location for information about slow-paying shippers provided the amount is at least $250, undisputed, and the trucking company has cut off credit to the debtor. Each month, CompuNet will send a bulletin to notify other trucking companies that at least one carrier has had difficulty collecting monies owed by that company.
CompuNet then sends a letter to the debtor on behalf of the carrier, advising them that they have been reported and urging them to contact the carrier and settle the account.
This service is being added at no charge to CompuNet carrier subscribers, said company president Cindy Aldridge.
