Cummins has introduced a new 350-hp rating for its ISL engine, aimed at the 4×2 short-haul truck market. The new rating, with 1,050 pounds-feet of torque, was developed in conjunction with Allison Transmission in order to optimize the engine-drivetrain package while reducing up to 800 pounds in weight. The ISL is a fully electronic in-line 6-cylinder diesel engine that is capable of providing ample power and fuel economy for customers in the short-haul market.
