The freight transportation services index (TSI) fell 0.6% in December from November, the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Bureau of Transportation Statistics reported.

BTS said the freight TSI fell due to declines in air freight, rail carloads, and pipeline volumes, while trucking, rail intermodal, and water volumes increased.
