Dock Management Gets Green Light

Warehouse Systems of Mississauga, Ont., has introduced the TriLite Stop & Go Light, designed to improve safety around loading docks. While the truck is being directed to an individual dock, Stop & Go mounted on the outside wall is switched to flashing green.

Once the truck (or trailer) is safely docked and locked in place by a lock and/or wheel chocks, the light is switched to flashing red. This tells the driver he must get clearance before attempting to move the truck again. A second Stop & Go light can be wired inside the building to flash opposite-color signals, and to keep dock workers aware of the truck’s safety status.

The device can be controlled independently or with a control console. The lights use standard 12-volt automotive bulbs and are compatible with any type of loading dock. They also have an upper visor, just like most regular traffic signals, to help keep them visible even in bright ambient light.
