First-ever highwaySTAR Career Fair at Truck World

TORONTO — Truckers and would-be drivers looking for career advice should make sure they attend the inaugural highwaySTAR Career Fair at Truck World in April.

The first-of-its-kind forum — presented by highwaySTAR editor Jim Park –will provide employment opportunity information to those interested in a career in trucking with on-the-spot recruiting.

Canada boasts a $53 billion dollar trucking industry that offers careers for drivers, owner-operators, mechanics, technicians, sales representatives, and many other rewarding job opportunities.

The Career Fair can introduce students, teachers, career counselors, new Canadians, women, and anyone else to the wealth of career opportunities available in the Trucking industry.

Statistics show that the trucking industry is the number one occupation for Canadian men and increasingly women are discovering the rewards this industry has to offer.

Sponsored by Power To Drive program, the highwaySTAR Career Fair will take place at Truck World on Friday April 21st at the International Centre.

“The highwaySTAR Career Fair is perfect for students, those who have been downsized, or individuals looking for a new career,” says Elizabeth McCullough, manager show division. “The trucking industry offers careers that provide individuals with financial stability, independence, and often an opportunity to travel throughout North America. Many industries are facing a worker shortage right now. The highwaySTAR Career Fair is the perfect place to learn why the trucking industry is such a good fit for so many people. The potential is phenomenal.”
