Goodyear opens nominations for Highway Hero Award
The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company is now accepting nominations for its 2024 Highway Hero Award, recognizing commercial truck drivers who demonstrate extraordinary acts of courage and selflessness on the road.
From now through Dec. 31, Goodyear invites nominations for CDL-holding drivers, including long-haul truckers, regional delivery drivers, and vocational vehicle operators, who went the extra mile to help others on the road.
“Commercial truck drivers are not only at the center of the supply chain industry, but they also act as vigilant guardians of the roads, ready to assist others in need,” said Joe Burke, vice-president, Goodyear North America Commercial business, in a news release. “For over four decades, the Goodyear Highway Hero Award program has celebrated remarkable contributions of professional truck drivers who have acted selflessly for the good of others on the road.”
Eligible nominees must full-time commercial drivers based in the U.S. or Canada, with heroic actions occurring while on duty between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2024. Goodyear will announce the award winner in 2025, honoring the driver with cash prizes and a ride on the Goodyear Blimp. Up to two runners-up will also receive a cash prize.
