New German alternator
Robert Bosch Corp.
Robert Bosch Corp’s LI-L alternator, specially designed for class 3-8 model trucks, increases output nearly 40% while significantly reducing operating costs, the company says, adding that the alternator is smaller and lighter than many current models.
The base design consists of both 14 and 28-volt models, with a 42-volt version scheduled for production later this year. The alternator output ranges from 140 to 200 amps and has a standard warranty period of three years/350,000 miles.
Bosch, based in Germany, designs and produces precision components sold to North American vehicle and powertain manufacturers.
