Nova Scotia revises thaw restriction dates

HALIFAX (April 5) — Better weather has prompted transport officials in Nova Scotia to lift thaw restrictions on some roads as early as today.

The province announced the following revisions:

> In Yarmouth, Shelburne, Digby, and Queens counties, spring weight restrictions will be removed effective 12:01 a.m., April 5, instead of April 19.

> In Annapolis, Kings, and Lunenburg counties, the spring weight restrictions will be removed effective 12:01 a.m., April 5, instead of April 22.

The restriction period for the counties of Halifax and Hants remains unchanged. The restriction period for these counties ends 12:01 a.m., April 22.

Also, the restriction period for the counties of Colchester, Cumberland, Pictou, Antigonish, Guysborough, Richmond, Inverness, Victoria and Cape Breton remains unchanged. The restriction period for these counties ends 12:01 a.m., April 26.
