Southeastern Freight Lines renovates four service centers

Southeastern Freight Lines announced its has upgraded service centres in Houston and El Paso, Texas; Greensboro, N.C.; and Puerto Rico as part of ongoing investments in capacity and facility modernization.

Lexington, S.C.-based regional LTL carrier said the enhancements are meant to support evolving customer demands and the company’s commitment to modern work environments.

“These investments are about giving our teams the tools and resources that they need to perform at their best,” said Ryan Smigiel, vice president of real estate at Southeastern, in a news release. “By expanding capacity and modernizing our environments, we’re improving operational performance and setting our associates up to deliver consistent, high-quality service well into the future.”

The El Paso terminal, located at 1090 Burgundy Drive, added a new driver rest facility with 11 rooms, a gym, a kitchen and a lounge. The 37-dock-door centre also received interior upgrades to office, conference room and dock areas, along with the addition of a dedicated wellness room.

In Houston, the 129-dock-door facility at 9199 West Hardy Road underwent a yard expansion aimed at improving navigation and reducing congestion during inbound, outbound and breakbulk operations. Exterior paint and landscaping upgrades were also completed.

In Greensboro, a newly built maintenance shop doubles the size of the previous one, expanding tractor bays from five to 10, and trailer bays from two to six. The 99-dock-door service centre supports 183 associates and will use the expanded shop to increase preventative maintenance capacity and reduce equipment downtime.

The Puerto Rico location completed a full renovation, including expanded conference space, new workstations, an optimized office layout, upgraded data and electrical infrastructure and expanded camera coverage.
