This Time You Get To Woodstock

Scott Verbruggen’s regal-looking KW will be shined up for the show

WOODSTOCK, ON—There’s a new festival in town and it promises to be a doozie.

The Name: The Woodstock Truck Show.

The Place: The TA Travel Plaza, Woodstock ON. (Exit 230 on the 401.)

The Date: Saturday, May 31 to Sunday, June 1.  Gates open Friday, May 30, at 5:00 p.m.

Another Thing:  Saturday night party in town at the CAW Hall. Shuttles will be running between the TA, local hotels and the scene of the party.  And there’ll be a raffle.

The Killer App: All visitors will be asked to vote for their favorite trucks, and at the end of the Sunday, 12 winners will be announced and they will be photographed for a lovely 2015 Truck Calendar. Organizers expect at least 50 trucks will compete.  The truck owners will be on hand to show the scoring visitors unique traits that a layperson might not see, such as specially designed mats or subtle coloring jobs.

The Very Best Part: It’s for a good cause. Kevin Verbruggen of Verbruggen Trucking is helping organize the event and he says all the proceeds from the truck show as well as from the subsequent calendar sales will be divided up between two excellent causes: Special Olympics Ontario and the World’s Largest Truck Convoy, which also raises money and awareness for Special Olympics.

“Trucker are a great community and they take pride in their profession,” Verbruggen told todaystrucking.com. “This gives us a chance to put them in a positive light for the public.”

Organizers are hoping the show attracts people from beyond the trucking community and to that end, Verbruggen says, the price of admission will be kept as low as possible.
