THRC gets $7M in federal funding for workforce initiatives
Trucking HR Canada (THRC) has been awarded nearly $7 million in federal funding over five years to advance workforce planning, recruitment, and retention in Canada’s trucking and logistics sector.
Provided through the federal government’s Sectoral Workforce Solutions Program, the funding will support expanded labor market and skills intelligence, along with practical recruitment and retention tools, helping employers anticipate labour needs, improve productivity, and strengthen the workforce capacity, THRC said in a news release.
THRC is one of 14 organizations to receive funding under the program.

“For trucking and logistics employers, workforce pressures directly affect productivity, service reliability, and competitiveness,” said Angela Splinter, CEO, Trucking HR Canada, in the release. “This funding allows Trucking HR Canada to deliver enhanced labor market insights and tools employers can use to build the workforce capacity that keeps Canada’s supply chains and trade moving.”
“Workers are the backbone of our economy, driving success in every corner of our country. The world is at a hinge moment — and we’re focused on what we can control: investing in people and building strength at home,” added Patty Hajdu, Canada’s minister of jobs and families. “By supporting Trucking HR Canada, we’re strengthening our supply chains, creating good opportunities for workers, and helping communities across the country stay competitive and resilient. Together, we are building Canada strong.”
