Trucker Path and American Trucking Associations’ Women In Motion have partnered to address safety concerns for female drivers, identifying key truck stop amenities that contribute to a safer environment.

The initiative, driven by feedback from professional drivers, focuses on enhancing safety at truck stops across the U.S. by highlighting locations that offer critical features such as lighted parking, 24/7 security, and accessible facilities.

So far, 320 truck stops have qualified as having at least one of the seven identified safety amenities, with 14 truck stops offering all seven. Among the most commonly available features, 95.6% of the qualified stops provide lighted parking, while just over half—51.7%—offer lighted bathroom access. However, fewer stops provide more comprehensive security measures, such as 24/7 security presence, available at only 21% of locations.

Other important amenities include lighted shower facilities with round-the-clock access, lighted lounge areas, and laundry facilities available 24/7. Despite efforts to improve, only 17.2% of stops currently offer 24/7 maintenance services.
