Pell brings more than 20 years of leadership experience in people, culture, and corporate strategy. She most recently served as chief people, culture, and engagement officer at Alberta Investment Management Corporation.

Her career also includes executive leadership roles at Cenovus Energy, DIRTT Environmental Solutions, and Ausenco, where she developed and implemented people strategies to drive cultural and business performance.

“Krista’s passion for people, culture, and performance aligns perfectly with Trimac’s values,” said Matt Faure, president and chief executive officer of Trimac, in a news release. “Her expertise in building strong, engaged teams will be instrumental as we continue to grow and evolve. We’re excited to welcome Krista to Trimac and look forward to the impact of her leadership.”

Wellington Group names Watson president of Wellington International

Derek Koza, president and CEO of Wellington Group, announced that Gregory Watson has been appointed president of Wellington International.

Prior to joining Wellington, Watson served as the CEO of Flying Fresh Air Freight for almost six years. Watson also worked at Kintetsu World Express (KWE) for over 12 years, serving as a vice-president of sales and marketing for more than six years in different capacities.

“We trust Greg and his leadership and we cannot wait to see what the future has written for this unbelievable group of professional leaders,” Koza said.

Wellington International was established in 2021 to address ocean and drayage capacity challenges during the pandemic. The division has since expanded into a business unit within the group, with plans to grow its global footprint amid ongoing trade tensions.

Stavert, Brown join Wellington International in Halifax

Wellington International has also expanded its Halifax branch, welcoming Kyle Stavert and Christian Brown as business development managers.

Marcus Monteiro, director of international operations, said in a statement, “Kyle has been on and around vessels his whole life. He is one of the most personable and likable people you will meet. The knowledge and drive he has complements him well to be able to work with both the clients and our operations team.”

Before Stavert joined Wellington, he worked at Flying Fresh Air Freight as business development manager. He also served as operations manager at DB Schenker, sales and service coordinator at KWE, and shipping clerk at Nova Scotia Liquor Corporation.

Christian Brown, meanwhile, has also worked at Flying Fresh Air Freight for almost eight years and as a WestJet cargo agent before joining Wellington. “Christian has grown up on the East Coast and has lived there all his life. He is an expert on the air side of the spectrum but in the short period of time with Wellington has gained the knowledge to be able to offer all services,” Monteiro said.

Wellington welcomes Gupta as senior account manager

In addition, Wellington Group has brought on Mayur Gupta as senior account manager. Chris West, vice-president of operations at Wellington Motor Freight, said Gupta brings nearly a decade of transportation and logistics experience across both asset-based and 3PL operations.

“To add to this, he has both a global business management degree as well as a CIFFA certification to add to his resume. Mayur is an absolute professional, and we couldn’t be more excited to have him strengthen our team,” West said. “In a very short period of time, he has made an immediate impact on our day-to-day, and we look forward to watching that grow as we continue through a very exciting 2025.”
