Trucking Announcements: Ruiters takes the helm at STA; Trimac, Transflo, Groupe Robert hire executives

This week, the Saskatchewan Trucking Association elected Rob Ruiters as its board chairman. Trimac Transportation appointed Grant Borbridge as chief legal officer. Transflo welcomed Don Everhart as head of partnerships and strategy, and Groupe Robert celebrated the return of Scott Cull as director of strategic partners in Ontario. Meanwhile, Canadian trucks participated in Peterbilt’s 7th annual Pride & Class Parade in Denton, Texas.
STA elects Bison Transport’s Ruiters as chairman
The Saskatchewan Trucking Association announced Rob Ruiters of Bison Transport as the newly elected board chairman. Kerri Lynn of Hawk Logistics was elected as the first vice-chairwoman, and Brock Girling of Q-Line Transport as second vice-chairman.
Meanwhile, Heather Day of C.S. Day Transport, who served as chairwoman over the past two years, will continue to lend her expertise as past board chairwoman.
The board also welcomed three new members – Sherry Mossman of Northern Resource Trucking, Dallas Lowe of Canada Cartage, and Nick Johnson of C.S. Day Transport.
Trimac appoints Borbridge as chief legal officer
Trimac Transportation has named Grant Borbridge as its new chief legal officer, responsible for overseeing legal, risk and insurance, and environmental compliance. Based in Calgary, Alta., Borbridge joins Trimac’s executive leadership team.
He joined Trimac in 2021 as vice-president of legal and corporate security and brings more than 20 years of legal experience to his role, spanning sectors such as oil and gas, transportation, retail, biotechnology, and asset management.
Borbridge’s background includes senior legal roles as senior vice-president of legal at MEG Energy and executive vice-president at Emergo Group. He also received the RVA Jones Award from the Canadian Corporate Counsel Association in 2018.
Transflo names Everhart as head of partnerships and strategy
Transflo has appointed Don Everhart as head of partnerships and strategy, where he will lead the development of strategic alliances, strengthen industry relationships, and drive initiatives that advance Transflo’s innovation roadmap.
With more than 20 years in the transportation and logistics sector, Everhart joins the company with experience across truckload and dedicated operations, pricing, network engineering, and technology.
Everhart, who previously served as the chief technology officer at FreightVana, has held senior roles at Knight-Swift Transportation and FreightVana.
Groupe Robert welcomes back Cull
Groupe Robert announced Scott Cull’s return as director of strategic partners in Ontario.
He has more than 30 years of experience in the logistics industry and is well-acquainted with Groupe Robert’s operations, having been a part in establishing the company’s logistics division in Toronto two decades ago, Groupe Robert said in a LinkedIn post.
“We’re excited to have Scott back on board, and we’re confident his expertise will further strengthen the relationships with our strategic partners as we continue to deliver reliable, sustainable, and customer-focused supply chain solutions,” the post read.
Canadian trucks join Peterbilt parade
Peterbilt welcomed trucks from across the U.S. and Canada at its 7th annual Pride & Class Parade, on Oct. 18 in Denton, Texas, as part of the city’s Peterbilt Pride & Class Day.
The event featured over 50 custom Peterbilt trucks, including the legendary model 589, model 389X, and model 567, parading around Denton’s historic square.

The parade marked the end of Peterbilt’s week-long campaign supporting non-profit United Way of Denton County, during which Denton-based employees participated in fundraising activities. Peterbilt has partnered with the organization for over three decades, and the Pride & Class Parade, a tradition since 2016, showcases Peterbilt pride and local craftsmanship, drawing super-fans and passionate truck owners.
