UPS Canada offers online signature capture

MISSISSAUGA, Ont. (Nov. 13, 2000) — United Parcel Service Canada Ltd. unveiled a service that allows customers to verify that a package was received by viewing the recipient’s handwritten signature on the Web.

The package-delivery giant also allows customers to view collect on delivery (C.O.D.) information, as well as full delivery name and address details online.

Customers must register online to use the service. Go to www.ups.com/canada, select MY UPS.COM, and complete the registration form. A PIN-controlled security feature is designed to prevent unauthorized access; the user ID and password are protected through 128-bit encryption using secured servers.
