Mack Trucks dealer Vision Truck Group has opened a new Mack facility in Brantford, Ont., following a $20 million investment.

The new facility, located at 167 Garden Ave. in Brantford, officially opened on April 15. Vision Truck Group broke ground on the 52,000-sq.-ft. facility on March 1 last year.

“Congratulations to Vision Truck Group for opening another location to better service and support Mack customers,” said Jonathan Randall, president of Mack Trucks North America, in a news release, “Vision’s investment in the construction of this state-of-the-art facility as well as the Mack brand is evidence that like Mack, Vision is committed to its customers.”

The site features 22 service bays and is a Mack certified uptime dealer, having met requirements to improve uptime for customers. Mack certified uptime dealers feature “uptime bays” reserved for trucks with service and repair needs requiring less than four hours of work. This system allows for rapid diagnosis and return to operation.

The Brantford location is also a natural gas-certified facility, and the team is currently working toward becoming a Mack certified electric vehicle dealer.

Vision Truck Group will employ about 70 people at the site, with plans to staff 40 technicians, including 12 master technicians, the company said in a news release, adding that the site also has $2 million in parts inventory.

“The City of Brantford has been growing significantly during the past several years and is a strategic location based on transportation traffic in Ontario,” said John Slotegraaf, president of Vision Truck Group. “The area has been under-served by OEMs before we opened this new Mack facility for our customers.”
