The Women’s Trucking Federation of Canada (WTFC) will host its Bridging the Barriers Western Canada conference in Calgary, Alta.

The event will begin with a networking reception on the evening of May 26, followed by a full-day educational conference on May 27. WTFC said in a news release that the event will bring together professionals from the trucking industry to discuss workforce development initiatives across the sector and support greater participation of women in the industry.

Keynote speaker, Leslee Montgomery — an award-winning mental health advocate focused on psychological safety in high-stress industries — will discuss strategies to help transportation workers build resilience and navigate the pressures of the industry.

Ruby Murphy-Collins, who has more than 30 years of experience in trucking, will also speak at the event, sharing insights on career development and leadership in the sector.
