Ritchie Bros.’ Edmonton auction to feature thousands of items, three charity trips

by Truck West

EDMONTON, Alta. – Ritchie Bros. will hold a fourth Edmonton, Alta. auction from Sept. 7-9, with more than 5,100 items already confirmed for sale and more expected to be added to the list.

“Whether you’re looking for one item or an entire fleet, we will have everything you need,” said Brian Glenn, senior vice-president of Ritchie Bros. “We are also excited to be selling several items for charity in this auction. We held a successful charity golf tournament in August to raise funds for Fort McMurray, and this is a great extension to that event.”

Equipment highlights for the upcoming auction include excavators, dozers, loaders, truck tractors and a large selection of oil and gas items. Up for charity, with proceeds being donated to the Fort McMurray fire relief effort, is a luxury fishing trip for six to Stuart Island, B.C. (donated by Dave Ritchie), a trip for four to the Las Vegas Barrett-Jackson auction in October (donated by Thompson Construction) and a skybox for an upcoming Edmonton Oilers hockey game (donated by Sureway Construction).

More than 600 owners will be selling equipment at the Edmonton event, with brand names like Kenworth, Caterpillar and Komatsu on auction block.
