U.S. to measure importance of transportation
WASHINGTON, D.C. — The U.S. is planning to measure the economic impact of the transportation of freight and passengers.
The first report of the recently announced Transportation Services Index is due out in March, announced Transportation Secretary Norman Mineta.
The report is expected to provide the country’s first measure of the transportation’s sector on the U.S. economy.
