HALIFAX, N.S. — Public consultation sessions for oversize and overweight movements in Atlantic Canada are gaining speed.

The Nova Scotia Department of Transportation and Public Works, Service Nova Scotia and Municipal Relations, and corresponding departments in the other three Atlantic Provinces are working towards the development of a proposal for the harmonization of special permit conditions for the movement of overweight and over dimensional vehicles/loads.

Consultation sessions are being held at five sites throughout the province. Drivers are invited to participate in this consultation to identify concerns and to offer solutions. Input will be used, along with the input from trucking industry stakeholders of the other Atlantic Provinces, to develop the proposal for the consideration by the Atlantic Canada provincial governments.

Drivers are also encouraged to share this invitation with industry colleagues, association members and clients.
