KANATA, Ont. — WebTech Wireless has announced its fleet clients will be testing TireStamp’s TireVigil tire monitoring and asset management service.

The system provides tire management information the company says can result in savings of $4,000-$10,000 per truck per year. The company says the savings result from reduced roadside calls, extended tire life of up to 30 per cent and fuel savings resulting from maintaining correct fuel pressures.

TireStamp also says the monitoring system can increase the life of tire casings allowing for four to five retreads per casing. Tire sensors are used to provide continuous readings on the status of each tire with updates provided via WebTech’s wirless locator.

"Providing our fleet customers with increased ability to reduce costs and affect bottom line results strengthens our offering for the long-haul market," said Anwar Sukkarie, president and CEO, WebTech Wireless. "Additional value through better tire asset management complements our fleet services and establishes another venue for fleets to remain competitive and cost effective."

"The benefits of proper tire management are far reaching," added Scott Feagan, TireStamp’s CEO. "Poor tire maintenance is a major cause of accidents. Better tire performance will reduce tire related accidents and associated costs."
