CP strike poised to end
CALGARY, Alta. — Striking maintenance workers for Canadian Pacific Railway have reportedly agreed on a tentative contract with the railway, potentially ending a three-week long strike.
The Teamsters union has confirmed a tentative deal but has not released any details about the three-year contract. Striking workers are expected to return to the job over the next few days, the union confirmed.
The railway and union have been working along with a mediator to come to terms on a new contract. Teamsters officials said a deal was finally struck about 6:30 a.m. this morning.
