Special permits for B-trains now available in N.B.
FREDERICTON, N.B. — Special permits are now available in New Brunswick to allow standard double-trailer units to travel at an overall length of 25 m on all highways having a gross mass limit of less than 62,500 kg. These configurations are already allowed at 25 m on highways with a gross mass limit of 62,500 kg but they are limited to 23 m on all other highways.
The permit will therefore allow A-trains, B-trains and C-trains to travel at an overall length of 25 m on all highways in New Brunswick, as long as the vehicle configuration do not exceed the gross mass limit of the highway on which they are travelling. All standard double trailer configurations must also meet the requirements of Regulation 2001-67, Vehicle Dimensions and Mass Regulation – Motor Vehicle Act.
Note: Trucknews.com previously indicated that the special permit was for LCVS in this story’s headline. This was incorrect. The headline should have referred to B-Trains. Trucknews.com regrets the error.
