Canadian ground transportation rates continue to rise
TORONTO, Ont. — Ground transportation freight rates in Canada posted a fourth consecutive month of increase in August, up 1.5% over July.
That marks the fourth straight month of increases since the Canadian General Freight Index (CGFI) reached a low point in April.
“Increases in overall freight costs for Canadian shippers continue to be driven by the domestic truckload sector,” said Doug Payne, president of Nulogx. “While truckload is leading the way, we also now see a strengthening of the LTL and transborder rates.”
