BISON REACHES LNG MILESTONE, PUBLISHES WHITE PAPER
Speaking of natural gas, Bison Transport has reached a milestone with the technology, accumulating its first million miles with its fleet of 15 LNG-powered Peterbilts. These trucks are used to pull double-53s between Edmonton and Calgary. Bison inked a deal with Shell to fuel the trucks. The first LNG fuelling site is operational in Calgary with others to come online in the future.
Bison’s experience with LNG has been mixed. You may recall this report I filed from the Natural Gas Vehicle Infrastructure Canada conference earlier this year, in which Trevor Fridfinnson gave a less-than-glowing endorsement of the technology. Still, he said Bison is committed to seeing this project through, despite the early disappointments. Well, with a million miles now under its belt, Bison has published a white paper that sums up its LNG experience to date. And quite well, I’ll add. It’s worth a read if you’re considering getting into the technology. You can find it here.
