Keystone Western expands Manitoba terminal, adds to fleet size
WINNIPEG, Man. — Keystone Western hosted a grand opening Sept. 26, inviting employees, vendors and customers to join in the celebrations as it opened its newly expanded head office and terminal.
The expanded facility is based in Grande Pointe, Man., just outside Winnipeg.
President and owner Norm Curtis said “This investment to expand our office facility was needed to support our 20% annual growth rate and improve the quality of work-life for our office and driving staff.”
The expansion adds 7,000 sq.-ft. of space and includes new work stations for additional operations and customer service staff, the company announced. It also adds a new boardroom, fully-equipped lunchroom and gym.
Outside, a new weigh scale has been installed as well as an electronic yard gate with card access and paved parking areas. The investment totalled about $1 million and Keystone also is adding about $5 million in new highway trucks and trailers.
