New map overlays to help guide your route more efficiently

PRINCETON, N.J. – ALK Maps today (Nov. 30) released new map overlays that the company says will provide superior route planning and data insight for increased operational efficiency on its web-based interactive mapping platform.

Part of ALK Technologies, ALK Maps’ new visualization overlays include information on traffic incidents (accidents, weather-related events and traffic concerns); drive time polygons (provides detail on how far a driver can travel within a given length of time from a specified location); elevation routing (helps ensure pressure-sensitive goods are kept safe, prevents cargo damage and helps with fuel efficiency); and boundary polygons (highlights Canadian provincial boundaries, as well as U.S. states and postal and zip codes).

“ALK Maps continues to expand its product offerings to meet customer demand for map visualization across all industries,” said Rishi Mehra, director of web products at ALK Technologies. “Our new capabilities provide tools not only for enhanced transportation route planning, but also for improved strategic decision making. By transforming operational data from numbers to visual, actionable intelligence, ALK Maps can enable businesses to improve their efficiency, productivity and decision making.”

ALK Technologies is a Trimble Canada company that provides geologistics solutions and navigation software for the transportation, logistics and mobile workforces, with product lines that include PC*MILER, CoPilot and ALK Maps.
