TORONTO — Wakefield Canada has increased its distribution fleet adding specialized trucks to carry diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) from their new facility.

The doors opened early to the new diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) solutionizing facility last Friday, the first of its kind in Canada, the company said.

The high-tech facility, housed in one of Wakefield’s existing lubricant plants in Toronto, takes prilled urea ­— the raw ingredient in DEF — and processes it into the final product, branded "H2Blu." Wakefield said that by manufacturing and packaging H2Blu, they will be able to control and maintain the purity of the product.

The new facility opened ahead of schedule based on the strength of sales over the last — and first — six months of selling the product.
