800 Quebec Paccar Workers Locked Out of Plant Again

STE-THERESE, QC— More than 800 workers at the PACCAR truck plant in Ste-Thérèse, Que. have stopped building trucks.

The workers’ contract ended at midnight on Saturday and PACCAR, in keeping with its “no contract-no work” policy, locked the facility when the negotiation deadline passed.

Local 728 of Unifor Quebec, the employees union, had requested more time to consider the offer, but the company refused to extend the deadline.

On Sunday, with the plant closed and locked, 76 percent of workers voted to reject the offer.
