How about a Hooked Up shout-out to Terrance Smith and Jack Fielding, two Canadian drivers who are up for prestigious Truckload Carriers Association awards? Terrance Smith of Miramichi, N.B. is one of three finalists in the TCA Owner/Operator of the Year competition. He’s leased to SLH Transport in Kingston, Ont. and is up against a pair of American O/Os leased to Prime Inc. and Art Pape Transfer.

Jack Fielding is up for the same award in the company driver category. He lives in McKellar, Ont. and drives for Bison Transport. He’s up against drivers from Fremont Contract Carriers and Prime Inc. Finalists were “selected based on their ability to operate in a safe manner on public highways, efforts to enhance the public image of the trucking industry, and positive contributions to the communities in which they live,” the TCA announced. Winners will be announced at the organization’s convention in March.
