Dispatcher’s persistence pays off with lottery win

by Today's Trucking

Persistence playing the lottery has paid off for a dispatcher in Ontario. Damien Bradley of Waterloo won a Lotto 6/49 second prize worth $68,388.50 in the Feb. 22 draw.

Bradley has been playing the lottery with OLG for about a decade, according to a news release. He plays Lotto 6/49 twice a week, using the same numbers for each draw.

“I usually check my tickets when I go to the store to pick up new ones for the next draw,” Damien said in the release. “That day, when I scanned my ticket and saw the prize amount on the screen, I was shocked to discover I’d won big. I scanned it again to make sure I was seeing the prize amount correctly. Then, I handed it to the clerk for validation, and the lottery terminal froze. I was very happy and excited.”

He added, “When I got home, I told my partner I had something to show her and said she needed to sit down. I then showed her a picture of the lottery terminal screen displaying the prize I’d won. She was thrilled.”

The dispatcher said that winning the prize was a shock. He added that it will help relieve some financial burden. He plans to pay some bills and is looking forward to taking a vacation.

  • Wow… Amazing. So much money, he’s not gonna be able to spend it all in this lifetime LOL.
OK now it’s something, but not worth making headline trucking news, in my opinion.
