Teamsters unionizes Gordon Food Service in B.C.
The Teamsters says it has unionized more than 500 workers, including drivers, at Gordon Food Service in B.C.
The organizing campaign has been ongoing since 2021.
“Workers had been grappling with a range of workplace issues, including lagging wages, safety concerns, favoritism, unjust discipline and terminations, and an increasingly expensive benefits package,” the Teamsters said in a blog.
“But this is just the beginning. The next battle lies in negotiating a first collective agreement to secure better wages, benefits, and protections for these courageous workers.”
