A Toronto truck driver is stashing away his $50,000 lottery win toward a comfortable retirement.

Randal Rawluk won the second prize in the Ontario 49 draw on July 16, according to an OLG news release. The trucker has been playing the lottery for decades. The 66-year-old said he won a $5,000 prize about 10 years ago, but nothing could have prepared him for the thrill of his first big win.

One day, Rawluk checked his ticket using the OLG app on this phone. “At first, I thought I’d won $50,” he said. “I didn’t realize it was $50,000 until the next morning! I was super shocked and happy.” Until now, Rawluk had kept the news to himself. “Winning feels pretty nice,” he added.
