Truck driver to use $1 million lottery win to pad retirement fund
A truck driver from Orillia, Ont., is enjoying the “best feeling in the world” after he won a $1 million lottery prize.
Jason Free became a millionaire after he matched all seven encore numbers in exact order in the Aug. 30 Lotto Max draw, according to an OLG news release.
Free, a father and grandfather, has been playing the lottery with OLG for about five years. He plans to take his family on a well-deserved vacation and to add to his retirement fund.

“I couldn’t wait to tell my wife,” Free said. “I originally thought I had won $100,000, but quickly realized it was $1 million! I was left in disbelief and total shock. I told everyone I know. Everyone was so happy for us. This came at the perfect time. Winning is surreal; it’s the best feeling in the world.”
The winning ticket was purchased at Orchard Gate Gas Bar on Atherley Road in Orillia.
