GRAPEVINE, Tx.– O Canada! The winners of the prestigious Driver of the Year award at the Truckload Carriers Association’s annual meeting this week were both Canadian.

Jack Fielding of Bison Transport, Inc. won the Company Driver of the Year award, and Terrance Smith of SLH Transport, Inc. won the award for best owner/operator.

Fielding has driven more than 4.5 million accident-free miles during his 37-year career. He is a member of the Ontario Trucking Association’s Road Knights and likes to create awareness about safety as an in-cab instructor.

Smith has been driving for more than 42 years and has accumulated upwards of 4.7 million accident-free miles. He drives an immaculately clean truck and always makes an effort to be positive while on the job.

The winners both received a brand new RAM 2500 pickup truck.

They were the only Canadians to make the Driver of the Year shortlist in both of their divisions.
