Vigillo acquired by SambaSafety
PORTLAND, OR - SambaSafety, which specializes in managing driver risks, has acquired Vigillo, a company that provides real-time data to analyze driver and carrier performance. No anti-dumping penalties for Chinese tires in U.S.
WASHINGTON, DC - The United States International Trade Commission has determined a U.S. industry is not "materially injured or threatened with material injury" by imported Chinese truck tires that the U.S. Department of Commerce says are subsidized and sold below market value. As a result, the U.S. Department of Commerce will not issue antidumping and countervailing duty orders on the imported products.
Big prizes for big truck races
BLOOMING PRAIRIE, MN - The racers of big trucks will have a chance to earn big prizes this year, with $50,000 in prize money available during every race in the inaugural Bandit Big Rig Series. The season's first race is scheduled for March 25 at the Hickory Motor Speedway in Newton, North Carolina.
Navistar board names Clarke chairman
LISLE, IL - Navistar has elected Troy A. Clarke, the company's president and Chief Executive Officer, as the latest chairman of the board. Clarke replaces the retiring James H. Keyes, in a shift that became effective at the company's annual shareholder meeting on February 14. Keyes has served as non-executive chairman since April 2013. General Stanley A. McChrystal (ret) was elected as an independent lead director. "It has been a pleasure to serve on the board for the last four years, and I am honored to have been elected chairman," said Clarke. "This is an exciting time for Navistar, as we pursue our growth strategies highlighted by significant new product launches and our pending strategic alliance with Volkswagen Truck and Bus.
