Aperia to support Goodyear’s new Tires-as-a-Service program

Aperia Technologies announced a partnership with Goodyear to deliver a Tires-as-a-Service (TaaS) offering.

The program, launched at the Technology & Maintenance Council’s spring meetings, uses Aperia’s Halo Connect i3 platform coupled with Goodyear’s tires in a subscription-based offering that provides continuous tire monitoring and predictive insights.

Outsourcing tire management allows fleets to reduce their total cost of ownership, the companies claim, while freeing up resources.

Goodyear says fleets testing the TaaS program report 3% fuel savings and a 50% reduction in failures.

Aperia’s Halo Connect i3 provides tire pressure sensing, remote setpoint adjustments, and customized inflation settings.

“Maintaining optimal tire pressure is essential for improving fuel efficiency, reducing tire wear, and enhancing overall fleet performance,” said Gregory Boucharlat, vice-president of Goodyear Tires-as-a-Service. “The Halo Connect i3 is an integral component of our comprehensive TaaS solution and we’re proud to work with Aperia to deliver a seamless experience and unparalleled value to our fleet customers.”

Speaking at the TMC press conference, Goodyear director Michelle Ross added, “We’re going to monitor your tires continuously for air pressure, temperature, mileage and tread depth. And when there’s an issue, when we see an alert, we’ll resolve that alert for you by dispatching service to your truck.”

Aperia currently has about 1 million tires under its management, which have collectively run about 100 billion miles.
