Carrier Transicold launches TRU status light
Carrier Transicold introduced the TRU Status Light, a high-visibility indicator designed to provide drivers and yard personnel with at-a-glance status updates for transport refrigeration units (TRUs).
Mounted on the front corner of the trailer, the TRU Status Light features two distinct LED indicators: a white circle for normal operation and a yellow triangle signaling an alarm on the TRU controller display. The system is designed to automatically adjust brightness, increasing brightness in direct sunlight or reflective conditions while dimming at night to reduce glare.

“This patented design is based on input from customers who want a simple, reliable unit-status indicator that’s easy to see and understand,” said Ching Yue Yeung, senior manager of aftermarket products at Carrier Transicold, in a news release.
The TRU Status Light features a compact, IP67-rated housing and the lens that are built to withstand harsh environments. The housing is UV-resistant and sealed to keep out dust, moisture, and road grime, the release reads. The light integrates seamlessly with Carrier Transicold’s APX, Advance, and Summit controllers, as well as TRUs from other manufacturers. Carrier Transicold offers multiple installation kits, including L-bracket and recessed bracket options, making it easy to upgrade existing light bars.
The TRU Status Light comes standard on new Carrier Transicold trailer TRUs and is available as an aftermarket replacement for legacy light bars through Carrier Transicold dealers. Harness adapters and splitter harnesses are also available.
