ATHENS, GA. — Carrier Transicold’s Supra 60-series truck refrigeration units have received longer-lasting motors, as well as electrical system updates, the company announced this week.
The new EPA-compliant Supra 60-series comprises of five single-temperature models – the Supra 560, 660, 760, 860 and 960 with refrigeration capacities up to 32,000 BTU (at 35 F) for the Supra 960.
Carrier Transicold’s truck product manager, David Dunn, said the new 60-series will also run at lower RPMs for both the engine and compressor.
“Lower speeds mean better durability, longevity and reliability over the life of the unit. Our new 60-series continues to build upon that legacy,” he said.
Among the 60-series improvements include standby systems, a 10,000+ hour motor life, and an Extended Service Interval oil system with a 1,500-hour service period.
Dunn said these enhancements represent a significant upgrade to Carrier Transicold’s Supra product line.
“The improvements, including use of maintenance-free and extended service interval components, significantly reduces the total cost of ownership for the Supra 60-series.”
The Supra’s motors are also certified to the EPA’s Tier 4 standard for non-road motors of less than 25 horsepower by not exceeding maximum allowable emissions, including factors such as altitude and ambient temperature.
