Cummins natural gas comes to Kenworth T680 Next Gen

The Kenworth T680 Next Generation on-highway truck can now be powered by the latest generation of the Cummins Westport ISX12N natural gas engine.

The 12-liter engine offers ratings up to 400 hp and 1,450 lb-ft of torque. And it can run on compressed natural gas (CNG), liquefied natural gas (LNG) and renewable natural gas (RNG).

Other features on the ISX12N include a closed crankcase ventilation system, a maintenance-free three-way catalyst, onboard diagnostic capabilities, and a durable engine control module, Kenworth notes.

The engine meets the California Air Resources Board’s optional low-NOx standard of 0.02 g/bhp-hr.
